Rent Frock Repeat.

For my Canadian ladies:

I am telling you now, this is a game-changer if you love dresses (and let’s be real, the 31+ garments hanging in my closet right now confirm this).

Rent Frock Repeat is an amazing idea IN CANADA that allows you to “borrow” a high-end designer dress, without the designer price tag.

How it works:

  • Browse frocks by date or shipping address availability, style, colour, designer, body shape—and more.
  • Once you’ve found a frock to rent, select your preferred rental size and back-up size. (They provide a second size to ensure fit! I know I’m always worried about this when I online shop, so this feature’s great.)
  • Enter the postal code for your SHIPPING address.
  • Select the day you would like the dress to arrive. (They recommend two days prior to your event.)
  • Hit the “Rent It” button and you will be prompted to complete your transaction by providing payment information and shipping details.
  • Have a fabulous time in your dress.
  • On your return date put both dresses in the prepaid, return envelope that they provide.
  • Drop off your frocks at a local Canada Post office box or drop center.
How cool is that?! I never have to drop $250+ on a dress again! So excited to use this for all future hot dates/galas/weddings.

There’s a recruiting company that works in the same building as me.

I went to the kitchen area to grab some water and I noticed a young man writing a technical test required by the recruiters for whatever he’s applying for.

He was wearing a faded tweed jacket; under it a tuxedo shirt and bow tie.

The juxtaposition of those items say everything I need to know about him. Eager and hopeful, wanting to impress but lacking the traditional channels to do so, he comes up with his own form of expression. His clothes say ‘I’m young, hopeful, and naive, but I want this position, and I’m showing you’.

I hope he gets the job.

Booked.

Getting my hair done by Rachel McAdams’ stylist on Saturday morning. And I’m going dark. So nervous/excited! Last time I changed my hair this drastically, so did my personality and my sense of style. Let’s see what happens this time..

In other news, I got a new dress today. I love the colour; it’s not one that I would ever wear (read: I normally only wear cool colours), but for some reason it works, which for me is rare. It’s also classy enough I can wear it to work! Feels very 60s somehow. I’m a fan.

THIS is how you dress in the winter, fellas. Keep those North Face jackets for the ski hill.
